Like with our traditional Lawn Care & Fertilization Program, Horizon Landscape’s Organic Lawn Care Program begins with an analysis of the soil and evaluation of the lawn’s appearance. Our licensed and certified lawn care technicians are experienced and knowledgeable about both traditional and organic turf care methods and will take your lawn’s needs into consideration.

If you choose to go the natural route, our standard organic program includes six turf care applications to promote a sustainable and healthy lawn.

Organic lawn care products and practices

The basis of Horizon’s organic lawn care program are natural compounds like poultry manure, biosolids, soil microorganisms and carbon-based soil amendments for a healthier soil. We’ve been using organic and microbial products for many years in our tree and shrub care services with excellent results.

Weed control: Our organic lawn care program does not include traditional weed control; however, our knowledgeable, veteran applicators use techniques to minimize weed growth without selective herbicide applications.

Disease control: Our technicians will monitor disease activity throughout the lawn care season. We’ll advise you on implementing cultural practices — proper mowing heights, watering and feedings — that minimize disease-causing pathogens.

Insect control: If our organic lawn care professionals detect insect activity that requires treatment, where applicable we’ll use an organic product to remediate the issue.

If a pest concern does arise requiring treatment with a traditional product and methods, we can, with client consent, treat the affected areas as needed.
