New Jersey is a gorgeous state. It is especially beautiful during early spring as the leaves on the trees start to come out and flowers start to bloom.  Some places look like a lush green paradise. Trees are magnificent things that give back in so many ways. This post is going to highlight 10 of the best growing trees in the state of New Jersey.

1. October Red Maples are beautiful large trees. They grow well in a number of soil conditions but wet sites are the best.

2. The Pin Oak is capable of growing in almost any type soil. It is said to be the most popular and most widely used oak in New Jersey.

3. The Japanese Pagoda Tree may not give us the vibrant colored leaves like most New Jersey trees. But it is still special for the luscious array of flowers that bud in July/August. This tree grows relatively fast. It is can also survive in a drought.

4. The Katsura Tree grows to a height of 40 to 60’. They have some of the most beautiful leaves in the fall. They start out a reddish purple then turn to a beautifully bright purple green.

5. The Japanese Zelkova Tree, also known as the Green Vase, is one of the most sought after trees. It grows really well in drained soil.

6. Skyline Locust is another great shade tree. The best thing about this tree is it has small leaves that make cleanup slightly easier during the autumn season.

7. The Green Mountain Sugar Maple Tree not only provide shade but make excellent additions to larger yards or street tree lines.

8. The Greenspire Linden is a majestic tree with dense branches. It produces the beautiful gold and yellow foliage we see during the autumn.

9. The Red Oak is another gloriously big shade tree. It is also the state tree for New Jersey. Although it is the state tree it is not utilized that much. These trees can grow to be quite old. It is possible the name Red Oak could come from the rusty red color the leaves produce in the fall.

10. The Tulip Tree or Tulip Poplar Tree grows very fast.  It is such an amazing tree that also offers sweet-smelling spring flowers. In the fall they have vibrant colored yellow leaves that make you stop and look.
